Ανοίγουμε το κάτω καπάκι (10 βίδες) και το πάνω (4 βίδες)
Στην πρόσοψη αφαιρούμε τις πάνω βίδες και χαλαρώνουμε τις κάτω.
Τραβούμε την πρόσοψη μπροστά και βλέπουμε αριστερά τον ανεμιστήρα.
Στην δεξιά πλευρά βλέπουμε μια σειρά από βραχυκυκλωτήρες με την παρακάτω διάταξη.

Οι R47 και η R48 καθορίζουν την περιοχή που παραδίδεται το μηχάνημα.
Ε2 = μόνο η R47
Ε = μόνο η R48

Αφαιρώντας την R52 - Ανοίγει την λήψη στον δεύτερο δέκτη (118 MHz - 525 MHz)
Αφαιρώντας την R53 - Εκπέμπει σε όλες τις συχνότητες (όπου μπορεί!)
Αφαιρώντας την R54 - Extra δυνατότητες (Cross-band repeater, Sky Command, etc.)
Μετά τις αλλαγές πρέπει να κάνετε reset στον πομποδέκτη. Αυτό γίνετε με την ακόλουθη διαδικασία.
Όταν ο πομποδέκτης είναι κλειστός κρατάμε πατημένο το πλήκτρο Α=Β και τον ανοίγουμε. Στην συνέχεια επιβεβαιώνουμε την διαδικασία με το ίδιο πλήκτρο. Μνήμες και ρυθμίσεις θα χαθούν.

* Remove the bottom (10 screws) and top (4 screws) covers.
* In the front panel, remove the top screws and loosen the bottom
screws.
* Pull the front panel forward.
* You will see a fan on the left.
* To the right of the fan there is a group of 8 jumpers

Within these jumpers you can place 0 Ohm resistors to change the
configuration of the transceiver.

When changing the model, the TX will be changed in the following bands:

If you set up K model for its use in Europe, remember to turn OFF menu
number 43 and change the repeater offset [ FUNC, 9 ] for UHF to 7600 KHz.
The 0 Ohm resistors must be placed in R47 or R48 in order to activate
the E2 or E model. To obtain K model it is necessary to remove both.
In the others jumpers you must remove the 0 Ohm resistor to obtain the
following advantages.
R52 - Extension of RX in the sub receiver (118 MHz - 525 MHz)
R53 - Extension of TX. It will transmit in all frequencies.
R54 - Expand options (Cross-band repeater, Sky Command, etc.)
After any modification you will have to full reset the transceiver; for
that, follow the next steps.
* Turn off the transceiver
* A=B pressed while turning on. [ POWER + A=B ].
* Then confirm reset with A=B.
* All memories and menu configuration will be lost.
If you use the software MCP-2000 to configure the transceiver and you
have made this modification, delete the next entry in the Windows registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/KENWOOD/MCP-2000
Run the MCP-2000 again and it will answer again for the transceiver model.

type="E20" for E
type="600" for K
To assign the memories in the MCP-2000 for its use in Europe, it is
important to take into account that the option -7.6MHz Shift in UHF does
not exist. Use "Minus Shift" option and set 7600 KHz value in "Offset".
